In the world of The Wind Waker, the Great Sea is a vast expanse of water dotted with islands, and its young hero navigates it aboard the King of Red Lions, a ship that doubles as his home and weapon. Somewhere out there, beyond the next ridge of waves, the Battlefield waited—a flat, impossible island that shouldn't exist in his world but did, where a hundred warriors clashed in a storm of sparks and laughter. He adjusted his hat, felt the familiar weight of the Deku Leaf in his pack, and grinned. The sea was wide, the odds were silly, and he was, as always, a little kid with a sword. He pointed the ship forward and let the wind do the rest.
